What/where is a good brand of duvet covers that protect against dogs?

Our dogs shed and make a mess all the time, and as a result our ikea duvet cover is becoming dirtier and ripped. What is a good, strong duvet cover that is able to withstand the wear and tear of dogs but still be comfortable to sleep under?

I just throw a sheet and a couple of bath towels over my comforter, to protect it. The sheet catches any dirt, and the towels grab the hair.

Can’t give you a brand name …………..
I think if your a dog owner you either need to keep the dog bathed and nails trimmed (pedi-paws round the nail so its not sharp or jagged) otherwise all I can say is train the dog to stay out of your room or if your like me and allow your animals to sit wherever ppl sit then you need to do as I do and just deal with it… comes with treating your pets like they are your kids….. know anyone with children under 6 … same thing lol ;0)

go to wal-mart and look there for a duvet that’s not as expensive as an IKEA one.
i buy reversible comforters, that are washable/dryable,buy dark colours, not white or peach nor baby blue/pink.
buy several affordable ones, and rotate them.
our dogs jump on the bed too.

A duvet cover that is like a canvas on top with a bottom that is flannel or polyester. The dogs will not be able to rip the canvas top if they climb on the bed, and yet the flannel or polyester will be comfortable for you to sleep under. Another thought is that you should train the dogs to stay off the bed – it is your territory, not theirs. Keep your bedroom door closed during the day when you’re out so that they can’t sneak up there and get on the bed. At night have a room that the dog beds are kept in and teach the dogs that that is the only place they are allowed to sleep. If you don’t have a separate room, then put up a baby gate in the kitchen doorway and make them sleep in the kitchen at night. It is not being unkind to the dog to keep him in a separate place at night and to limit his roaming of the house or to insist that they stay off of the furniture. Dogs can be trained to respect your home – it takes a little time and effort. Dogs that have no boundaries and are allowed to do anything they want can become a nuisance very quickly. They DO NOT belong in a people bedroom!

Best advise is to buy reasonable priced ones, buy a couple and rotate, keep to darker colours, washable. You don’t always need to go to top of the line stuff, they will last just as long, even longer sinse they are being rotated every couple of weeks.

Another answer to your question in reference to your dogs shedding is to use the FURminator brush on them. We have a Great Dane and a Beagle that shed heavily and since we got the FURminator we don’t have a quarter of the hair in our house that we use to. It has helped greatly.
