Also a difference would be that bedspreads are removed from the bed as you lay down, while comforters stay on the bed, even when you drift off to sleep. Although bedspreads are able to keep you warm when used, their main function is to be decorative and not to warm the body.

Now as you set out to buy your bedspreads and comforters, you have to know which size would fit your mattress perfectly. The common and standard sizes would be Twin size, Double size, Queen size and King size (smallest to largest). You could even get one, which is “supersized”, and this would be the ‘California King’.

Fortunately, bedspreads and comforters have the same sizes so you can easily but two that would match without worrying about taking a whole lot of measurements.
