WHen it comes to beds, what is the difference between duvets, comforters, and bedspreads?

I was shopping for a bed set on Bed Bath and Beyond,
and I found that these items are all similar,
I was just wondering if anyone knew the difference!

What’s the long decorative “runner” on top of bed duvets at the foot of the bed- nicer hotels- where 2 buy?

these pieces of quilt or cloth are usually about 3-4 feet wide and are as long as the width of the bed. I assume they are meant for decorative purposes only and I would like to know what they are called so that I can buy one as a decorative accent for my bed. Thanks!!
